Job Overview
The 2D Animation Apprentice role at BUCK is a six-month, full-time apprenticeship focused on developing both technical and artistic animation skills. You will work primarily with Adobe After Effects and Cavalry to bring storyboards and designs to life while learning industry-standard workflows.
Program Duration: June 1st – December 4th
This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates, self-taught artists, and individuals eager to grow their animation career in a professional studio environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with an assigned mentor to achieve learning goals and project objectives.
- Create high-quality 2D animations using After Effects and Cavalry.
- Apply motion design principles such as timing, weight, and transitions.
- Continuously learn new tools and techniques relevant to animation and motion design.
- Contribute to team collaboration by sharing ideas and supporting peers.
- Assist in delivering animated content for client projects under tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant study or industry experience in animation or motion design.
- Strong understanding of motion behavior and animation fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Cavalry.
- Knowledge of tools such as Rive and Cinema 4D (C4D) is a plus.
- Good eye for design and visual storytelling.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong teamwork skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Ability to work independently and develop a unique creative perspective.
Education
No strict degree requirement. Suitable for recent graduates, self-taught artists, or candidates with equivalent practical experience in animation or motion design.
