Role Overview
Funovus is hiring a 2D Artist to join its on-site team in Redwood City, California. This full-time role involves collaborating with designers and artists to define and refine visual styles while producing high-quality 2D game assets, including characters, environments, and props.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with game designers and artists to experiment with and refine visual styles.
- Partner with the project lead to deliver high-quality assets on schedule.
- Develop concepts and designs for characters, environments, and props.
- Create polished 2D in-game assets aligned with the project’s artistic direction.
- Ensure deliverables meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
- Provide constructive feedback to external artists and contributors.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience as a Concept Artist or 2D Artist in the gaming industry.
- Strong research skills to gather references and inspire creative solutions.
- Ability to design characters, environments, and props across diverse themes and styles.
- Experience working within established artistic styles and guidelines.
- Strong sketching ability to solve visual challenges efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Deep passion for game development.
- Ability to work on-site in Redwood City, California.
Bonus Qualifications
- Strong drawing and rendering skills.
- Experience in mobile game development.
- Familiarity with 2D animation or VFX tools such as Spine, After Effects, or Flash.
