Job Overview
The Senior Gameplay Animator will play a key role in creating high-quality animations for a AAA title, with a focus on player-driven actions and combat systems. This position requires strong expertise in motion capture workflows, animation systems, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance gameplay and player experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement detailed gameplay animations for player combat and AI behaviors.
- Utilize motion capture data and motion matching technologies for realistic animation performance.
- Collaborate closely with Design, Engineering, Tech Art, and Motion Capture teams.
- Troubleshoot animation workflows, rigging, and pipeline issues proactively.
- Help establish best practices and standards for animation production.
- Participate in motion capture shoots when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience working on AAA game animation projects.
- Strong portfolio showcasing player-driven combat animations and motion capture work.
- Expert-level knowledge of Autodesk Maya and motion capture pipelines.
- Experience integrating gameplay animation into game engines.
- Ability to translate complex design requirements into functional animations.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Passion for video games and delivering high-quality player experiences.
Education
A degree in Animation, Game Development, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
