About the Role

Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) is inviting talented Animators to submit their profiles for future opportunities.
This Expression of Interest is not an active opening but allows candidates to be considered when positions become available.

As an Animator (Mid-level), you will create high-quality motion for computer-generated characters and objects,
contributing to world-class visual effects and storytelling. You will collaborate closely with animation supervisors
and creative teams to deliver cinematic excellence.

Job Overview

  • Work on high-end visual effects projects in film and media production
  • Create realistic and stylized animations for creatures and objects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design and production
  • Participate in reviews (dailies) and provide constructive feedback
  • Maintain high-quality output while meeting production deadlines

Key Responsibilities

  • Animate a series of shots within a project, ensuring consistency and quality
  • Collaborate with team members to develop creative animation solutions
  • Attend regular dailies and provide feedback to improve production quality
  • Mentor and support entry-level animators
  • Perform hands-on shot work and contribute motion reference performances
  • Assist with motion capture sessions when required
  • Handle additional animation-related production tasks as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of traditional animation principles and acting
  • Knowledge of film production and compositional design
  • Ability to work under supervision and handle delegated tasks
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience mentoring junior artists is a plus

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Traditional Animation or a related field with 3+ years of experience
  • OR at least 5+ years of professional experience in cel, stop-motion, or computer animation
