Job Overview

Nintendo Software Technology Corporation is seeking a Contract Animator with a strong foundation in character animation principles and a passion for bringing personality and motion to gameplay. In this role, you will collaborate with development teams to create high-quality animations and visual assets for video game production.

The ideal candidate has experience working with tools such as Maya or Blender and understands modern game development pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create 3D content that aligns with artistic direction and production quality standards.
  • Develop illustrations, 3D models, and textures for characters, environments, and game objects.
  • Produce animations for both 3D and 2D assets used in gameplay.
  • Utilize and maintain proficiency in commercial and proprietary Nintendo art production tools.
  • Implement gameplay features that support the overall game design vision.
  • Collaborate with production teams to review, analyze, and test game content during development.
  • Ensure work meets Nintendo’s high standards for quality and delivery timelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated artistic and technical skills in 2D and/or 3D art production.
  • Experience working with game development pipelines and engines such as Unreal, Unity, or proprietary engines.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard art tools such as Photoshop, Maya, ZBrush, or Substance Painter.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to respond efficiently to feedback and quickly iterate on animation assets.
  • Passion for character animation and gameplay-driven visual storytelling.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree in Art, Animation, Game Design, or a related field.
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered in place of formal education.
