Job Overview
Zynga is seeking a creative and driven Game Designer to design engaging levels and gameplay systems for some of its top-performing titles. This role requires strong ownership of design initiatives, collaboration across cross-functional teams, and the ability to bring fresh ideas that measurably impact game performance and player experience.
The Game Designer will help shape gameplay systems, prototype new features, and advocate for high design standards across the studio.
Key Responsibilities
- Own, drive, and communicate the vision for major game design initiatives.
- Design creative and engaging levels and gameplay systems.
- Recruit, mentor, and train designers within your initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, producers, engineers, and artists to prototype new gameplay features.
- Build and improve tools to streamline and optimize the design pipeline.
- Advocate for best design practices and maintain high quality standards across the studio.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in game development as a Game Designer.
- Experience leading or mentoring a team of designers.
- Strong background in system game design and gameplay mechanics.
- Deep understanding of what makes games engaging and fun.
- Extensive familiarity with online and mobile games, with the ability to analyze strengths and weaknesses in design.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience (graduate degree preferred).
