Job Overview

Unity is hiring a Senior Technical Artist to join the Unity Studio Productions team in London.
This team consists of highly skilled software developers and technical artists who collaborate
directly with customers to improve their projects, workflows, and production pipelines.

In this role, you will work closely with external development teams, helping them integrate assets,
optimize rendering pipelines, and solve complex technical challenges using the Unity engine.
You will also contribute to tool development, workflow automation, and technical guidance to ensure
efficient production environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with external development teams to build games and production tools.
  • Develop and maintain production workflows and pipelines using scripts and automation tools.
  • Create, integrate, and optimize assets such as shaders, particle systems, and VFX for real-time rendering.
  • Work closely with Unity’s internal development teams to provide feedback and validate upcoming engine features.
  • Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to client teams both remotely and on-site.
  • Continuously research and adopt new Unity technologies and real-time content creation techniques.
  • Conduct short-term consultations with customers to improve their production pipelines and content quality.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of real-time content creation fundamentals including modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, lighting, and rendering.
  • Experience writing and optimizing shaders, VFX, and post-processing systems for game rendering.
  • Professional experience working with interactive engines such as Unity, Unreal Engine, or proprietary engines.
  • Experience working with large content pipelines and writing scripts using languages like C# or Python.
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git, Perforce, Mercurial, or Unity Version Control (Plastic).
  • Hands-on experience with digital content creation tools like 3ds Max, Maya, Blender, or Houdini.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical concepts to customers.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with profiling tools such as Unity Profiler, Frame Debugger, Memory Profiler, RenderDoc, or Superluminal.
  • Knowledge of tools like Substance 3D Designer, Substance 3D Painter, ZBrush, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
  • Experience using AI-driven content creation tools in game production.
  • Background in delivering training sessions, technical presentations, or documentation.
