Job Overview
Studio B is looking for a talented VFX Artist to join its London-based post-production team. This role involves creating high-quality visual effects across a wide range of projects, with a primary focus on compositing while contributing across the entire CG pipeline. The ideal candidate is both creative and technical, capable of handling fast-paced production cycles and delivering exceptional visual results.
Key Responsibilities
- Work across all aspects of CG production including modelling, shading, texturing, lighting, and rendering.
- Create high-quality models, textures, and photo-realistic matte paintings.
- Perform lighting and scene assembly for assets, environments, and characters.
- Enhance 3D renders using advanced 2D compositing techniques.
- Collaborate with VFX and CG Supervisors to achieve the desired visual style.
- Communicate effectively with production teams and provide creative input.
- Deliver high-end VFX aligned with project aesthetics and technical requirements.
- Maintain and improve efficient VFX pipelines and workflows.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of professional experience in VFX production.
- Strong knowledge across CG techniques such as tracking, modelling, texturing, FX simulation, lighting, rendering, and compositing.
- Experience working on advertisements or feature film projects.
- Proficiency in Houdini and at least one renderer such as Karma or V-Ray.
- Familiarity with USD rendering workflows.
- Experience with 3ds Max and Blender.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Understanding of AI tools and modern creative technologies.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, MEL, VEX) is a plus.
Education
- Degree or diploma in Visual Effects, Animation, Computer Graphics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Traditional art background is advantageous.
