Job Overview
As a Technical Artist at Luma AI, you will bridge research and production by transforming foundation models into scalable, production-ready creative tools. You will design pipelines, fine-tune models, and define aesthetic standards to create impactful AI-driven experiences for creators worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable ComfyUI-style pipelines for production-ready AI workflows
- Develop and implement LoRA-based fine-tuning strategies to improve model control and output quality
- Collaborate with research and design teams to evaluate early model iterations and guide improvements
- Identify model limitations and implement solutions through fine-tuning and data optimization
- Ensure high aesthetic quality standards in collaboration with data teams
- Prototype new creative workflows and controllability features
- Translate artistic direction into technical implementations
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Visual Generative AI (creator, engineer, or researcher)
- Strong programming skills in Python and ability to debug complex systems
- Deep familiarity with tools such as ComfyUI, Automatic1111, Kohya, or similar frameworks
- Strong understanding of aesthetics with a background in art or design
- Experience with LoRA or other efficient model fine-tuning techniques
- Ability to work independently with a strong problem-solving mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Contributions to open-source generative AI projects
- Experience building tools bridging research and production environments
- Background in VFX or game development technical art pipelines
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Visual Arts, Game Development, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
