Job Overview

BioRender is hiring a Medical Illustrator / Animator to join a newly established team of formally trained scientific visualization experts. This role focuses on improving how science is visually communicated across product experiences, educational resources, marketing content, and scientific illustration systems.

This is not a traditional production-focused role. Candidates will contribute strategic insight into scientific storytelling, visual communication standards, animation quality, and scientific accuracy across the BioRender platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create motion graphics and scientific animations for product launches, social media, marketing campaigns, and sales presentations.
  • Design scientific figures, templates, and educational visual assets that establish BioRender’s quality standards.
  • Deliver live product demonstrations during webinars, conferences, and customer presentations.
  • Develop tutorials, onboarding materials, and learning modules for researchers and scientists.
  • Create and maintain icon systems and illustration libraries while ensuring visual consistency.
  • Conduct scientific accuracy reviews and visual QA for templates, illustrations, and AI-generated outputs.
  • Analyze how researchers create scientific figures and help standardize best practices into scalable systems.
  • Contribute to product and AI visualization decisions where medical illustration expertise is essential.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Medical Illustration, Biomedical Visualization, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, molecular biology, or relevant scientific subjects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in both static scientific illustration and animation.
  • Ability to evaluate scientific visuals for clarity, storytelling, and communication effectiveness.
  • Strong design judgment with the ability to explain creative and visual decisions clearly.
  • Experience creating visuals that resonate with scientific and research audiences.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous and evolving environments.
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining complex scientific concepts to non-experts.
