Job Overview

Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a Senior Lighting / Compositing Artist to join its Cinematics team. This temporary role involves creating high-quality lighting and compositing for cinematic sequences across both pre-rendered and real-time content. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement lighting for characters and environments aligned with artistic direction
  • Maintain color balance, visual consistency, and overall shot quality
  • Collaborate with FX teams to integrate visual effects
  • Work closely with directors, supervisors, and production teams
  • Ensure timely delivery of shots while meeting productivity targets
  • Perform compositing tasks including tracking, layering, color grading, and roto work
  • Manage multi-shot lighting and compositing workflows

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in games, film, TV, or commercial production
  • Strong portfolio/demo reel showcasing lighting and compositing expertise
  • Proficiency in Katana, Nuke, Maya, Linux, Renderman-RIS, and Redshift
  • Experience with modern game engines and production pipelines
  • Strong understanding of cinematic lighting, composition, and color grading
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex lighting and compositing setups independently
  • Experience working in fast-paced, iterative production environments

Education

A degree in Animation, Visual Effects, Computer Graphics, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Equivalent industry experience is highly valued.
