Job Overview

As a CFX Artist, you will be responsible for developing dynamic simulation rigs for characters, including cloth, hair, and skin systems. You will execute high-quality character FX work in production shots, ensuring realism and consistency while collaborating closely with the animation and technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop simulation rigs for hair, cloth, and character deformation (muscle, skin, fat).
  • Create high-quality cloth, hair, and skin simulations for production shots.
  • Produce geometry and groom correctives to enhance realism.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental tools and workflows.
  • Work within established production pipelines and technical frameworks.
  • Stay updated with the latest artistic methodologies and simulation technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Follow guidance from Supervisors and Leads throughout production.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in VFX or animation industries.
  • At least 1 year of experience in animation production.
  • Strong proficiency in Houdini is required.
  • Solid artistic and technical understanding of 3D animation and simulation.
  • Experience with cloth, hair, and character FX systems.
  • Familiarity with Marvelous Designer is a plus.
  • Grooming experience is a plus.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Medium to high proficiency in English; Spanish is desirable.

Education

A degree or formal training in Animation, Computer Graphics, VFX, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
