Job Overview
Disney is seeking a talented VFX Artist to join its game development team. This role focuses on creating high-quality real-time visual effects that enhance gameplay and storytelling. Key Responsibilities
- Design and create real-time visual effects for gameplay, characters, and environments.
- Develop atmospherics, weather systems, and environmental effects using Unreal Engine 5 and Niagara.
- Collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers to bring creative ideas to life.
- Integrate and optimize VFX assets to ensure performance and visual quality.
- Iterate on effects through feedback, critiques, and creative exploration.
- Support gameplay communication through impactful visual storytelling.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of game development experience, including 2+ years as a VFX Artist.
- Strong understanding of 3D graphics, shaders, particle systems, and physics.
- Expertise in timing, motion, and visual impact of effects.
- Ability to create VFX assets from scratch across different styles.
- Proficiency with tools such as Maya, Substance, Photoshop, or equivalent.
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5 and Niagara (preferred).
- Knowledge of Houdini or similar simulation tools is a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Art, Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
