Job Overview
Nintend is hiring a Contract Animator (NST) to contribute to high-quality game development. This hybrid role is ideal for an Associate Animator with a strong foundation in character animation principles and experience with tools such as Maya or Blender.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with production teams to create engaging 3D and 2D animations aligned with gameplay and design goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the creation of 3D content that meets required direction and quality standards
- Develop assigned illustrations, 3D models, and textures for characters, environments, and objects
- Create and implement animations for both 3D and 2D assets
- Utilize commercial and Nintendo proprietary art production tools effectively
- Implement gameplay features aligned with overall game design goals
- Review, analyze, and test products in development to ensure high-quality and timely delivery
- Collaborate as an active member of the production team to maintain Nintendo’s quality standards
Skills & Requirements
- Proven artistic and technical skills in 3D and/or 2D art production
- Experience with game development pipelines and game engines such as Unreal, Unity, or proprietary engines
- Proficiency in commercial art software including Photoshop, Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of character animation principles and gameplay implementation
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to feedback and iterations
Education
Undergraduate degree in Art or a related field is preferred. Equivalent education and professional experience will also be considered.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range of $31 – $47 USD per hour
