About the Role
As a Senior Game Designer, you will help shape the foundational player experience for EA SPORTS™ UFC. Reporting to the Senior Creative Director, you will collaborate across design, product, engineering, animation, art, and production to transform creative vision into polished gameplay systems and features.
This role combines hands-on design leadership with mentorship, raising the bar for gameplay clarity, systems thinking, and execution quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Creative and Product leadership to define and champion core gameplay vision
- Lead design and execution of major gameplay systems and features from concept through polish
- Create high-quality design documentation, prototypes, and implementation plans
- Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to elevate team-wide design standards
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Animation, Art, and Production teams
- Balance creative ambition with production realities while preserving player experience
- Incorporate playtest data, player insights, and market research into iteration cycles
- Advocate for player-first decisions aligned with franchise and business goals
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional game design experience
- Meaningful ownership of shipped console or AAA titles
- Experience leading complex gameplay systems or major features
- Strong systems thinking and player experience design skills
- Experience mentoring designers and contributing to team standards
- Ability to collaborate cross-discipline and influence direction
- Comfort working in ambiguous creative environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $111,600 – $152,800 CAD (location dependent within BC)
