Job Overview
Kwalee is seeking a Senior 2D Animator to join its Creative Marketing team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will lead the production of high-quality, performance-driven 2D animated ad creatives for mobile games. You will combine strong animation fundamentals with marketing insights to create engaging, data-informed content that drives user acquisition and campaign success.
This is a permanent, full-time position requiring on-site collaboration five days per week in the Bangalore office.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and production of animated ad creatives using Toon Boom (Spine proficiency is a plus).
- Translate creative briefs and campaign objectives into compelling 2D animation concepts.
- Collaborate with User Acquisition, Motion Design, and Creative Strategy teams to align storytelling with performance goals.
- Analyse ad performance metrics (CTR, CPI, IPM) and contribute to creative iteration planning.
- Develop multiple creative variations and conduct A/B testing to optimise engagement.
- Research competitor campaigns, animation trends, and storytelling formats.
- Apply strong principles of timing, spacing, composition, and cinematography.
- Integrate AI-powered tools and automation workflows to enhance efficiency and output quality.
- Mentor junior and mid-level animators through feedback and structured guidance.
- Maintain organised archives of project files and reusable creative assets.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality marketing creatives.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Toon Boom; experience with Spine or equivalent 2D animation tools is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of animation principles and performance marketing workflows.
- Excellent 2D animation, drawing, and storytelling skills.
- Strong grasp of composition, pacing, and visual timing for mobile advertising.
- Familiarity with AI tools to streamline animation and creative production.
- Experience in mobile game marketing and performance-based creative production.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Availability to work on-site in the Bangalore office five days per week.
