Job Overview
Oklo is seeking 3D Visual Artist freelancers and studios to support upcoming visualization projects. This open call invites portfolios from professionals skilled in 3D modeling, look development, and rendering. Selected artists may be contracted on a project-by-project basis to produce high-quality visuals for digital, video, and experiential storytelling.
The role focuses on creating clear, visually compelling 3D assets with strong control over lighting, materials, and composition while collaborating with teams across engineering, marketing, and design.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a cohesive 3D visual style across assets and projects.
- Create high-quality 3D models for rendering, animation, and digital presentations.
- Produce photorealistic renders with precise control over lighting, materials, and composition.
- Translate visual references into consistent style guides and production workflows.
- Maintain well-organized scene files and reusable asset libraries.
- Prepare rendered assets for marketing, design, and video production deliverables.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering and marketing.
- Refine visual assets through hands-on rendering techniques rather than relying solely on automated tools.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 3–5 years of professional experience in 3D modeling, rendering, or digital visual design.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality modeling, rendering, and visual consistency.
- Experience defining and matching visual styles across multiple assets.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere.
- Strong understanding of lighting, materials, composition, and rendering workflows.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Blender and Rhino.
- Background in architectural, industrial, or product visualization.
- Experience creating both 2D and 3D animations.
- Preference for candidates located near Santa Clara, California.
Contract Details
- Hourly contract rate ranging from $50 to $125 depending on experience.
