About the Role

WPP Production is looking for a talented Lighting Artist to join its creative CGI team in Mumbai. This hybrid role focuses on producing high-quality lighting for photorealistic computer-generated imagery while collaborating with artists and technical teams to deliver exceptional visual content for global marketing campaigns.

Job Overview

As a Lighting Artist, you will be responsible for creating realistic lighting setups, refining rendered imagery, and ensuring the highest visual quality across CGI projects. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams on automotive and commercial visualization projects while contributing to creative excellence and efficient production workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lighting Creation: Design and implement realistic lighting setups for high-quality CGI projects.
  • Rendering: Produce optimized, visually accurate renders while maintaining production efficiency.
  • Creative Collaboration: Partner with artists, designers, and technical teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Visual Quality: Apply strong color theory, composition, and lighting techniques to create photorealistic imagery.
  • Project Coordination: Support multiple workstreams while maintaining quality standards and delivery schedules.
  • Leadership: Contribute to team guidance and collaborate effectively across departments when required.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about emerging CGI technologies, workflows, and industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in CGI lighting and rendering techniques.
  • Professional experience with automotive visualization projects.
  • Proficiency in 3D Studio Max, Maya, V-Ray, Nuke, and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Excellent understanding of color theory, composition, and lighting principles.
  • Experience managing complex projects and collaborating across teams.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Visual Effects, Computer Graphics, or a related discipline.
  • Equivalent professional experience in CGI lighting or visual effects will also be considered.
  • Additional certifications in 3D visualization or rendering tools are advantageous.
