Job Overview
AeroVironment is seeking a versatile 3D Video Animator who can manage the entire production pipeline from real-time animation and scene creation to video editing and post-production. This role focuses on creating high-quality marketing videos, product visualizations, and cinematic brand content using Unreal Engine 5 and industry-standard creative tools.
The ideal candidate combines strong 3D animation skills with advanced editorial capabilities, delivering polished visual storytelling across multiple formats while collaborating closely with creative and marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and animate high-quality 3D sequences in Unreal Engine 5 for marketing and brand campaigns.
- Build real-time scene environments, lighting setups, and post-processing pipelines.
- Develop 3D assets, motion graphics, and product visualizations using Cinema 4D.
- Edit marketing videos, social content, and brand films from concept through final delivery.
- Handle color grading, audio mixing, and finishing in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
- Composite 3D renders with live-action footage and motion graphics using After Effects.
- Organize project files, media assets, and version control workflows.
- Collaborate with creative, branding, and marketing teams to produce compelling visual narratives.
- Manage multiple production deadlines while maintaining high creative quality.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- 3–5 years of professional experience in both 3D animation and video editing.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating commercial or marketing-focused animation work.
- Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine 5, including Sequencer and Lumen lighting workflows.
- Proficiency in Cinema 4D for motion graphics and animation production.
- Experience using Redshift rendering for lighting, materials, and optimized rendering workflows.
- Advanced video editing skills using Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.
- Excellent understanding of cinematic storytelling, pacing, and camera composition.
- Ability to independently manage projects from concept to final delivery.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience shooting and directing video productions.
- Knowledge of Houdini, Arnold, or Octane rendering workflows.
- Experience working on small production sets.
Additional Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship, Green Card, or protected status required due to ITAR regulations.
- Ability to travel up to 15% for events, demonstrations, and activations.
- Preference for candidates located within 50 miles of Simi Valley or Moorpark offices.
