Job Overview

The Senior Animator will create high-quality animations that enhance gameplay, storytelling, and player engagement. This role is responsible for maintaining animation quality standards, improving workflows, and ensuring seamless integration of animation assets into game engines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create production-ready 2D and 3D animations from concept to implementation.
  • Collaborate with designers, artists, engineers, and sound teams to deliver cohesive gameplay experiences.
  • Own animation quality across the pipeline, ensuring clarity, polish, and strong player feedback.
  • Translate design requirements into engaging animation solutions.
  • Develop character, FX, UI, and feature animations aligned with game themes.
  • Improve pipelines, tools, rigging workflows, and export processes.
  • Support integration and troubleshoot animation implementation in game engines.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional animation experience in games or interactive media.
  • Strong expertise in 2D tools such as After Effects and Spine.
  • Working knowledge of 3D tools like Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max.
  • Experience with Substance Painter or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of animation principles including timing, weight, and anticipation.
  • Experience creating character, FX, and UI animations.
  • Rigging experience for 2D and/or 3D characters.
  • Technical mindset with optimization experience for real-time environments.
  • Strong understanding of visual design principles such as lighting, composition, and motion clarity.
  • Experience working in agile or milestone-driven production environments.
  • Excellent communication and feedback skills.

Education

Degree in Animation, Motion Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
