Job Overview

Rocksteady Studios is seeking a highly skilled Technical Artist to bridge the gap between art and engineering. In this hybrid role, you will support the art production pipeline within Unreal Engine 5, ensuring high-performance and visually stunning assets for AAA game development.

You will collaborate closely with artists and engineers, developing tools, shaders, and workflows that enhance production efficiency while maintaining top-tier visual quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance the art production pipeline within Unreal Engine 5.
  • Create and maintain tools, shaders, and workflows for content creation.
  • Optimize art assets using modern techniques including Nanite, Lumen, and Mega Lights.
  • Collaborate with art and engineering teams to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Provide guidance to artists on asset creation best practices and performance optimization.
  • Conduct technical analysis and report findings to improve workflows and asset quality.
  • Act as a liaison between art teams and engineering disciplines.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (C++, C#, or Python).
  • Strong understanding of linear algebra and real-time graphics fundamentals.
  • Experience with shader development, including PBR workflows and HLSL.
  • Knowledge of art asset pipelines and user-friendly tool development.
  • Familiarity with modern optimization techniques such as Nanite-based workflows.
  • Demonstrated artistic sensibility within real-time engines.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Graphics, Game Development, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
