About the Role

Infold Games is seeking an experienced 3D Character Modeler specializing in high-fidelity facial modeling for next-generation console and PC development. This role focuses on creating cinematic-quality character faces, realistic facial textures, and advanced facial deformation systems for real-time rendering pipelines.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in facial anatomy, sculpting, topology optimization, and FACS-based facial systems while collaborating closely with rigging, animation, and technical art teams.

Job Overview

  • Create high-fidelity facial models for protagonists and key NPC characters
  • Develop cinematic-quality facial textures and real-time rendering assets
  • Build BlendShapes and FACS-based facial expression systems
  • Collaborate with rigging and technical art teams for animation-ready assets
  • Support AAA-quality character production pipelines and standards

Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality facial models including high-poly sculpting, topology optimization, UV unwrapping, and low-poly production
  • Develop cinematic-level facial texture assets including Albedo, Normal, Roughness, and SSS Mask textures
  • Create facial BlendShapes and Morph Targets following FACS standards
  • Collaborate with rigging teams to ensure natural facial deformation for motion capture workflows
  • Optimize topology edge loops and muscle flow for animation and real-time rendering requirements
  • Work closely with technical art teams to support next-generation rendering pipelines
  • Help establish and maintain project standards for facial modeling and asset delivery
  • Mentor other character modelers and contribute to team development
  • Iterate on facial assets to meet cinematic AAA quality standards

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in 3D character modeling within games or film/television industries
  • At least 4 years of specialized experience in high-fidelity facial modeling
  • Experience working on AAA console, PC, or cinematic-quality projects
  • Advanced proficiency in ZBrush for realistic facial sculpting
  • Deep understanding of facial anatomy including muscles, bones, fat layers, and skin detail
  • Proficiency in Maya or 3ds Max for animation-ready topology optimization
  • Strong experience with Substance Painter, Mari, or similar texturing tools
  • Ability to create realistic PBR skin textures for next-generation rendering
  • Experience creating BlendShape systems and FACS-based facial expression libraries
  • Familiarity with MetaHuman workflows or equivalent facial production standards
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5 or other modern real-time rendering engines
  • Strong artistic sensibility balancing realism and stylized character aesthetics

  • Experience with motion capture facial pipelines
