Flying Bark Productions is seeking an experienced Rigging Artist with strong technical and creative skills to help build high-quality rigged assets for animated productions.
Job Overview
- Create and maintain rigged assets for animated feature films and television series
- Support animation teams with high-performance character, prop, and environment rigs
- Collaborate with directors, supervisors, animators, and technical teams
- Develop rigging solutions that support storytelling and animation quality
- Contribute to technical workflows and rigging pipeline improvements
Responsibilities
- Create, revise, maintain, and support rigged assets for production requirements
- Respond to creative and technical feedback from directors and supervisors
- Ensure rigged assets meet artistic, technical, and performance standards
- Oversee rigging workflows for characters, props, and set pieces throughout the animation pipeline
- Provide troubleshooting and technical support to animators and technical directors
- Develop techniques and workflows to solve rigging production challenges
- Collaborate closely with animation and technical teams to ensure efficient production integration
- Maintain robustness, usability, and stability of rigging systems and interfaces
Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience in VFX or animation production
- Strong understanding of rigging controls and character deformation systems
- Experience rigging characters, props, and environment assets for animation pipelines
- Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Maya
- Good understanding of Python and MEL scripting
- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to develop production-ready rigging workflows and tools
- Experience supporting animators and technical directors within production environments
