Job Overview

The Storyboard Artist plays a key role in visual storytelling, working closely with writers and directors to bring scripts to life in a 3D animation environment. This role focuses on staging, camera work, composition, and timing to create compelling sequences for story reels.

This is a hybrid position requiring candidates to be based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create visual storyboards from scripts using 3D tools and techniques
  • Develop camera angles, composition, pacing, and shot continuity
  • Set up scenes and cameras in a 3D environment
  • Edit storyboard sequences into animatic/story reels
  • Collaborate with directors and writers to refine storytelling
  • Ensure scenes align with narrative goals and production requirements
  • Participate in innovative projects leveraging visual storytelling techniques

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in film or television production
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating visual storytelling, staging, and composition
  • Proficiency in 2D storyboarding or equivalent skills
  • Experience with 3D animation software (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of camera movement and cinematic techniques
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a production environment
  • Comfortable working extensively with computer-based tools

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Film, Animation, Fine Arts, or a related field is recommended.
