Job Overview

Flying Bark Productions is seeking a talented CG Layout Artist for upcoming 2026 opportunities. In this role, you will collaborate closely with artists, leads, and supervisors to contribute to storytelling through cinematography, camera work, and scene composition while maintaining production flow in a high-quality animation environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create strong cinematic layouts and camera setups for animated productions.
  • Contribute creatively to visual storytelling through composition and shot design.
  • Work with leads and supervisors to maintain consistency in narrative flow.
  • Utilize Maya in a production-based environment for layout tasks.
  • Interpret live action and CG camera lens information accurately.
  • Work with camera rigs and apply cinematography principles effectively.
  • Meet production deadlines consistently.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively within the team.
  • Take direction and adapt quickly to changes in production requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4+ years of production experience in 3D animated films and/or animated episodic content.
  • Strong sense of composition, cinematic camera work, animation timing, and narrative storytelling.
  • Experience and understanding of Autodesk Maya in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of layout workflows and CG/live-action cinematography.
  • Ability to work independently and under direct supervision.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passion for animation, cameras, and cinematography.
