Job Overview

The Storyboard/Animatic Artist will work closely with the Director and creative team to visualize the pilot episode through dynamic storyboards and animatics. This role requires strong cinematic storytelling skills, artistic versatility, and the ability to communicate emotion, pacing, and action effectively.

Start Date: 8th April

Reporting To: Director

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate scripts into compelling storyboards that communicate narrative, emotion, and action.
  • Collaborate with the Director to establish and maintain the visual storytelling style of the project.
  • Create detailed animatics incorporating timing and basic sound elements for scene pre-visualization.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to enhance narrative and visual storytelling techniques.
  • Revise storyboards and animatics based on creative feedback.
  • Maintain effective communication with the production team to meet project deadlines.
  • Contribute creative ideas and solutions to storytelling and visual challenges.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Storyboard Artist or Animatic Artist in the animation industry.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating visual storytelling and cinematic composition skills.
  • Excellent drawing abilities with adaptability to different visual styles.
  • Strong understanding of camera angles, pacing, composition, and cinematic techniques.
  • Ability to interpret scripts and convert them into engaging visual narratives.
  • Proficiency with storyboard and animatic software such as Storyboard Pro and Adobe After Effects.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Creative problem-solving mindset with a passion for storytelling.

Education

Preferred: Degree in Animation, Film, or a related field.
