M&S Consulting is seeking a skilled 3D Animator to create cinematic animations and scientific visualizations that communicate complex technical concepts through compelling visual storytelling.

Job Overview

  • Create cinematic 3D animations for scientific and technical visualization projects
  • Work across the complete 3D production pipeline from modeling to final rendering
  • Develop animations involving spacecraft, robotics, engineering systems, and planetary environments
  • Collaborate with creative directors, producers, scientists, and technical experts
  • Support mission-driven storytelling through high-quality visual content

Responsibilities

  • Create cinematic 3D animations from pre-visualization and animatics through final render
  • Model, texture, shade, and light assets for scientific and technical visualization projects
  • Rig and animate mechanical systems, spacecraft, robotics, and instrumentation processes
  • Develop environments and planetary visualizations for mission storytelling
  • Render and composite final animation sequences for video deliverables
  • Collaborate with creative teams and technical subject-matter experts to ensure scientific accuracy
  • Translate engineering and scientific concepts into engaging visual narratives
  • Iterate efficiently based on creative direction and technical feedback

Qualifications

  • Strong portfolio showcasing cinematic 3D animation and visualization work
  • Experience across the full 3D pipeline including modeling, rigging, texturing, lighting, animation, rendering, and compositing
  • Proficiency with Unreal Engine, Blender, Maya, After Effects, or similar tools
  • Ability to create high-quality animations independently and within collaborative workflows
  • Strong understanding of motion, timing, lighting, and cinematic composition
  • Experience working from storyboards, pre-visualization, or animatics to final delivery
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with CAD files and converting them into production-ready assets
  • Background in animating robotics, engineering systems, or mechanical processes
  • Experience creating scientific, space, or planetary visualizations
  • Knowledge of real-time rendering workflows using Unreal Engine
  • Experience collaborating with engineers, scientists, or technical experts
