The Meridial Marketplace, by Invisible is seeking a skilled 3D Artist Specialist with expertise in both hard surface and organic modeling to create accurate, production-ready digital assets from 2D reference materials. This freelance remote opportunity is ideal for artists experienced in creating realistic environments, characters, props, vehicles, and natural forms for games, film, AR/VR, or interactive media.

The role focuses on translating reference imagery into high-quality 3D assets while maintaining strong geometry, topology, and volumetric accuracy across a variety of asset categories.

Job Overview

  • Create production-ready 3D models from 2D references
  • Develop hard surface, organic, and environmental assets
  • Collaborate within iterative production pipelines
  • Maintain modeling accuracy, topology quality, and material definition
  • Support AI-driven creative and digital asset workflows

Responsibilities

  • Translate 2D reference images into accurate and detailed 3D models
  • Ensure proper geometry, proportions, topology, and volumetric fidelity across all assets
  • Source supplementary references to resolve incomplete or unclear visual information
  • Create hard surface assets including vehicles, props, and machinery
  • Develop organic assets such as human characters, digital doubles, animals, plants, and natural forms
  • Build environmental and architectural assets including landscapes, buildings, and set pieces
  • Iterate on models based on feedback while maintaining project quality standards
  • Document modeling processes and communicate problem-solving approaches effectively
  • Collaborate with team members in an iterative and feedback-driven environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in 3D Art, Animation, Game Design, Computer Graphics, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Proficiency with industry-standard 3D software including Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Houdini, or 3ds Max
  • Familiarity with texturing and UV workflows using Substance Painter, Mari, or similar tools
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating hard surface, organic, and environmental modeling work
  • Understanding of anatomy, form, material definition, and production-quality modeling techniques
  • Ability to clearly explain workflow processes and technical problem-solving
  • Comfort working in collaborative and iterative production environments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality asset creation
