About the Role

Mob Entertainment is seeking an experienced Game Director to lead the development of new game projects outside of the Poppy Playtime franchise. This leadership role combines creative vision, game design expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure engaging player experiences and successful product development.

Job Overview

The Game Director will work closely with executive leadership, design teams, artists, engineers, and production staff to define and execute the creative vision for new titles. You will oversee gameplay direction, progression systems, pacing, balance, and overall game quality while ensuring alignment with business and creative objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative Leadership: Define and maintain the overall creative vision, gameplay direction, and player experience for new game projects.
  • Cross-Department Alignment: Coordinate design, art, engineering, audio, effects, and production teams to ensure cohesive execution.
  • Strategic Planning: Partner with executive leadership to establish project goals, priorities, and creative objectives.
  • Design Oversight: Guide progression systems, gameplay balance, pacing, and feature implementation throughout development.
  • Documentation & Communication: Create clear design documentation, visual references, presentations, and project requirements.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Support and develop creative teams while fostering collaboration, innovation, and high-quality output.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of leadership experience within the video game industry or related creative fields.
  • At least 5 years of game design experience in lead or management positions.
  • Strong understanding of Unreal Engine and game development workflows.
  • Experience prototyping game concepts and guiding projects from ideation through production.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Game Design, Interactive Media, Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent professional leadership experience may be considered.
  • Training in project management, creative leadership, or game production is advantageous.
  • Portfolio or record of shipped game titles is highly desirable.
