Role Overview

The Senior Cinematic Animator will join the Cinematic Team to bring life, mood, and tone to real-time in-engine cinematics. This role focuses on delivering high-quality character animation, composition, camera work, and editing to create immersive narrative sequences.

You will drive cinematics from motion capture stage to in-engine playback, collaborating across disciplines including design, narrative, art, technical animation, and programming to achieve a cohesive creative vision.

This role follows a hybrid working model combining remote and in-office work in London, subject to company policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create industry-leading cinematic scenes supporting game narrative
  • Develop cinematography, composition, layout, and editing for in-game sequences
  • Work with motion capture data, keyframe animation, and in-engine animation manipulation
  • Set up cinematic scenes from previsualization to final quality in Unreal Engine
  • Animate characters to deliver memorable storytelling under WB-branded IPs
  • Collaborate closely with the Cinematic Director to achieve quality standards
  • Ensure timely task delivery and review content directly in-engine
  • Partner with neighboring departments to solve technical and creative challenges
  • Help define best practices, processes, and pipeline improvements

Qualifications

  • Experience shipping at least one AAA video game title
  • Strong proficiency in Unreal Engine 5 (Sequencer and Metahuman highly desired)
  • Advanced understanding of body mechanics, facial animation, camera language, and timing
  • Strong cinematic storytelling skills in composition and editing
  • Proficiency with 3D animation software such as Maya or MotionBuilder
  • Experience supporting motion capture production pipelines
  • Strong understanding of game development and animation pipelines for PC and consoles
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Portfolio or demo reel demonstrating high-quality cinematic animation work
