Job Overview

Monks is seeking a Senior Art Director, Social Content to join its award-winning creative team in Austin. This role blends strategic art direction with hands-on social content creation, focusing on AI-driven storytelling and technology-forward brands.

Reporting to the Creative Director, you will serve as a visual tastemaker and independent maker—concepting, capturing, editing, and delivering socially-native content that showcases AI tools in action. This position requires expertise in mobile-first production, motion graphics, and end-to-end post-production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Concept, present, film, and edit social-first content independently from start to finish.
  • Create tutorials and case studies demonstrating AI tools in real-world scenarios.
  • Serve as hand talent and provide voiceovers for instructional social content.
  • Translate complex AI and technology concepts into accessible, visually compelling social media stories.
  • Capture high-quality mobile-first content with expert lighting, framing, and audio techniques.
  • Execute full post-production workflows, including editing, motion graphics, and animation.
  • Collaborate closely with strategists and copywriters to ensure alignment between creative vision and messaging.
  • Champion and uphold brand visual identity and social media style guidelines.
  • Stay current on Gen AI trends, social formats, and culturally relevant content approaches.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5–8 years of experience in Production, Art Direction, or Social Media Content Creation.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing art direction, conceptual thinking, and high-quality mobile-shot video content.
  • Expertise in mobile content capture and real-world production setups.
  • Proficiency in video editing and motion graphics.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects).
  • Strong understanding of social-first storytelling for platforms like Instagram Reels and TikTok.
  • Experience utilizing AI tools in creative workflows.
  • Strong communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage projects independently while thriving in collaborative environments.
