Job Overview

The Associate Cinematics Facial Animator will support the Cinematics Team by assisting with tasks related to the facial animation pipeline. This includes validating facial animations in-game, assembling animation assets, and refining animation quality using industry-standard tools such as Maya.

The role also involves collaborating with internal teams, reviewing content, and supporting motion capture production when needed. This is an excellent opportunity for emerging animation professionals looking to gain experience in AAA game development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate that facial animation works correctly and appears visually accurate in the game.
  • Assemble delivered facial animation assets into game-ready packages.
  • Create facial animation or edit facial performance capture data.
  • Refine and tweak delivered animation to reach final production quality.
  • Participate in team content reviews and provide feedback.
  • Assist with motion capture shoots and related animation tasks when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Familiarity with at least one industry-standard 3D animation software such as Maya or MotionBuilder.
  • Basic understanding of facial and body animation techniques.
  • Experience with tools such as Photoshop or Premiere.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to quickly identify visual issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new tools.
  • Ability to take direction and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with scripting.
  • Knowledge of the Metahuman facial animation pipeline.

Education

Applicants must have completed or currently be enrolled in a formal animation program such as a BFA or BS from an accredited art or design school, or possess equivalent professional experience.
