Job Overview

As a Senior Environment Artist, you will take ownership of large environment sections, from early concept development to final in-engine implementation. The role requires a strong artistic eye, technical proficiency, and the ability to work collaboratively in a AAA game development environment.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with level designers and art directors to align with project vision
Design and build immersive 3D environments supporting gameplay and narrative
Create architecture, foliage, and props using photo references and concept art
Develop rough level layouts and iterate based on feedback
Set up placeholders and manage asset requests across teams
Optimize environments for performance within game engine constraints
Troubleshoot artistic and technical challenges during production
Conduct research and gather references for level ideation

Required Qualifications

Strong portfolio showcasing 3D environment and prop creation
Experience in AAA game development with at least one shipped title
Expertise in tools such as Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, ZBrush, and Substance Painter/Designer
Understanding of modern game engines and performance optimization
Strong artistic skills in composition, color theory, and visual storytelling
Ability to solve visual and technical challenges efficiently
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work under deadlines and adapt to evolving requirements
