2K is seeking a Senior VFX Artist to create visually stunning real-time effects that enhance gameplay, atmosphere, and player immersion. This role offers the opportunity to work on AAA game projects while collaborating with talented artists, designers, and engineers to deliver memorable visual experiences.

Job Overview

The Senior VFX Artist will be responsible for conceptualizing, creating, and implementing high-quality visual effects that align with the artistic vision of the project. Working with Unreal Engine and advanced VFX tools, you will help establish visual standards while ensuring effects are optimized for performance across target platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • VFX Creation: Design and implement high-quality visual effects that support gameplay, storytelling, and artistic direction.
  • Asset Ownership: Take VFX content from concept through final implementation while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with art, engineering, and design teams to integrate effects seamlessly into gameplay experiences.
  • Technical Development: Utilize Unreal Engine tools including Niagara, Material Editor, Sequencer, and Blueprint systems to create optimized effects.
  • Pipeline Improvement: Help develop efficient VFX workflows, tools, and production processes that support team productivity.
  • Production Support: Coordinate with production teams to manage priorities and ensure timely delivery of VFX assets.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience shipping high-quality VFX content in real-time game environments.
  • Strong expertise with particle systems, shader development, lighting, and performance optimization.
  • Advanced proficiency in Unreal Engine, including Niagara, Material Editor, Sequencer, and Blueprint workflows.
  • Experience using industry-standard tools such as Maya and Photoshop.
  • Strong artistic understanding of form, color, motion, texturing, and 3D modeling.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Visual Effects, Animation, Game Art, Digital Media, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Specialized training in real-time VFX, shader creation, or game development is beneficial.
  • Portfolio demonstrating professional-quality visual effects work is required.
