About the Role

Blizzard Entertainment is looking for an experienced Senior Cinematic Designer to join its Cinematics team and help create the next generation of real-time cinematic experiences. This temporary role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to world-renowned gaming franchises while collaborating with talented creative professionals.

Job Overview

The Senior Cinematic Designer will support the creation of high-quality real-time cinematics, working across multiple disciplines including camera work, lighting, animation blending, environment dressing, and visual effects. The role requires close collaboration with directors, leads, and production teams to ensure cinematic content meets Blizzard’s artistic and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create Real-Time Cinematics: Develop and support cinematic sequences using camera operation, animation blends, lighting, environment dressing, and FX work.
  • Collaborate with Creative Teams: Work closely with directors, supervisors, and creative stakeholders to deliver compelling cinematic experiences.
  • Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure all cinematic content meets Blizzard’s artistic vision, technical requirements, and delivery schedules.
  • Solve Creative Challenges: Propose innovative solutions to storytelling and production challenges while effectively pitching ideas.
  • Manage Production Tasks: Coordinate multiple assignments simultaneously while communicating clearly with production staff.
  • Ensure Technical Excellence: Maintain organized, technically clean work and proactively identify production risks or issues.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience creating complex real-time cinematics for AAA games.
  • Strong understanding of cinematic storytelling, editing, acting, pacing, composition, and lighting.
  • Experience creating cinematics from script through final implementation.
  • Solid understanding of game engine pipelines, technologies, and production workflows.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine production on AAA titles is highly desirable.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Film, Game Design, Multimedia, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Equivalent industry experience in cinematic production or game development will also be considered.
  • Additional training in filmmaking, visual storytelling, or real-time production pipelines is beneficial.
