Electronic Arts is seeking a Senior Technical Artist to join the EA SPORTS Technology team in Vancouver. This position offers the opportunity to develop cutting-edge pipelines, tools, and workflows that empower content creators across some of the world’s most recognizable sports gaming franchises.

Job Overview

The Senior Technical Artist will collaborate with artists, engineers, and production teams to create scalable solutions that improve content creation and production workflows. The role focuses on pipeline development, asset optimization, workflow automation, and resolving technical challenges across EA SPORTS titles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Production Pipelines: Design and maintain scalable tools, workflows, and production pipelines for content creators across EA SPORTS projects.
  • Create Technical Solutions: Build shared technologies and automation systems that enhance efficiency and streamline asset production.
  • Optimize Assets: Implement asset integration and optimization techniques to ensure high-quality and performant game content.
  • Troubleshoot Technical Issues: Take ownership of technical challenges, investigate issues, and deliver effective resolutions.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with artists, engineers, designers, and technical directors to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Drive Innovation: Contribute to future technologies, workflows, and initiatives that advance technical art capabilities across EA SPORTS.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in cinematic, game, or interactive content production.
  • Strong scripting or programming experience using Python or C#; C++ knowledge is an advantage.
  • Experience with industry-standard 2D and 3D software such as Maya, Photoshop, and Houdini.
  • Proven expertise in asset optimization, pipeline development, and debugging technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and creative disciplines.
  • Passion for games and a proactive approach to solving complex technical problems.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Art, Mathematics, Game Development, or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent professional experience in technical art or game development may be considered.
  • Additional training or certifications in programming, technical art, or content pipelines are beneficial.
