Job Overview
The Senior Technical Artist will bridge the gap between art and engineering, bringing visual concepts to life within Unity. This position focuses on creating stunning visual effects, animations, shaders, and tools while optimizing workflows and supporting cross-functional teams across multiple game projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Bridge Art and Engineering: Develop tools and workflows that streamline production pipelines and optimize visual assets.
- Create Visual Experiences: Transform art mockups into polished in-game content using particle systems, shaders, animations, VFX, and prefabs.
- Build UI Elements: Design and implement interfaces, UI systems, and interactive displays within Unity.
- Optimize Game Assets: Ensure visual quality while maintaining performance standards across multiple projects.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with artists, designers, and engineers to deliver engaging player experiences.
- Support Agile Development: Communicate timelines, manage tasks, and contribute effectively during development sprints.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in game development as a Technical Artist or related role.
- Expert-level proficiency with the Unity Editor and Unity production workflows.
- Strong experience with particle systems, shaders, VFX, animations, and prefab creation.
- Proficiency with industry-standard art tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for creating polished gameplay experiences and continuously learning new technologies.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Graphics, Game Development, Computer Science, Art, or a related field is preferred.
- Equivalent professional studio experience may substitute for formal education.
- Additional certifications or training in Unity, VFX, or technical art are advantageous.
