Job Overview

The Game Designer will contribute to the development of new features and gameplay experiences across MobilityWare’s portfolio of mobile games. Working closely with engineers, artists, and QA teams, you will create design documentation, develop game content in Unity, and use data-driven insights to improve player engagement and retention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Documentation: Create detailed Game Design Documents that support implementation and collaboration across development teams.
  • Content Creation: Use Unity and internal tools to develop, test, and refine gameplay content and features.
  • Feature Development: Design, balance, and iterate on game systems using player feedback and performance data.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, artists, and QA teams to deliver high-quality game experiences.
  • Gameplay Optimization: Analyze player behavior and game metrics to improve engagement and retention.
  • Industry Research: Stay informed about trends and best practices in casual and mobile game design.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in game design for casual or mobile games.
  • Experience creating and maintaining Game Design Documents (GDDs).
  • Proficiency with Unity and game content creation tools.
  • Knowledge of level design, economy balancing, feature planning, or live service management.
  • Ability to use data and player feedback to inform design decisions.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Game Design, Computer Science, Interactive Media, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent professional game development experience may be considered.
  • Training in game systems design, player psychology, or UX principles is beneficial.
  • Portfolio demonstrating game design contributions is highly desirable.
