MobilityWare is seeking a passionate Game Designer to join its growing studio in Lehi, Utah. This role offers the opportunity to work on a portfolio of highly successful casual mobile games enjoyed by millions of players worldwide while collaborating within a dynamic, start-up-like team environment.

Job Overview

The Game Designer will collaborate closely with engineers, artists, and QA teams to design engaging gameplay experiences for casual mobile titles. The role involves creating detailed Game Design Documents, building and tuning content in Unity, and using player data to refine and improve game features.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create Design Documentation: Develop clear and implementation-focused Game and Feature Design Documents that support cross-functional teams.
  • Build Game Content: Utilize Unity and internal tools to create, iterate, and implement gameplay content and features.
  • Analyze Player Data: Use analytics and player feedback to balance gameplay systems and optimize player engagement.
  • Drive End-to-End Design: Contribute across multiple design areas including core loops, live service features, economy tuning, and feature planning.
  • Iterate and Improve: Seek feedback, refine concepts, and continuously improve gameplay experiences through iteration.
  • Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams while fostering a positive and supportive culture.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of professional experience designing casual or mobile games in a studio or live production environment.
  • Strong understanding of casual mobile game mechanics and player engagement strategies.
  • Experience writing comprehensive and structured Game Design Documents (GDDs).
  • Familiarity with wireframing, mock-ups, technical flows, and concept research.
  • Experience using data and player feedback to inform design decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Game Design, Computer Science, Interactive Media, or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent professional experience in game design may be considered in place of formal education.
  • Additional coursework or certifications related to game development are advantageous.
