Job Overview

Robert Half is seeking a highly skilled 3D Motion Graphics Animator to create engaging, real-time motion experiences for automotive products. This role combines motion design, interaction thinking, and technical implementation, focusing on expressive animations that improve usability and reinforce product identity.

Responsibilities

Create and direct motion graphics and animations for automotive digital interfaces, including screen transitions, interactive feedback, and system-wide animation patterns.
Implement real-time animation workflows in Unity using Timeline, Animator, state logic, and visual graph-based solutions.
Transform UX journeys and interface concepts into purposeful motion that improves clarity and strengthens brand identity.
Establish scalable motion standards, reusable behaviors, and clear documentation across multiple platforms.
Collaborate with UX, visual design, product, and engineering teams to balance creativity and technical constraints.
Develop high-fidelity motion prototypes for idea validation and stakeholder alignment.
Optimize animation performance for embedded and real-time hardware environments.
Lead critiques, workshops, and design reviews while mentoring designers in Unity-based workflows.
Refine production workflows, handoff methods, and asset organization for smoother collaboration.

Qualifications & Skills

7+ years of experience in motion design for interactive products, real-time experiences, or automotive-focused work.
Strong portfolio demonstrating motion principles, transition design, composition, typography, and storytelling.
Advanced hands-on experience with Unity for production-ready animation and interaction behaviors.
Experience creating repeatable motion systems and reusable frameworks.
Knowledge of optimization techniques for embedded, mobile, or performance-sensitive environments.
Proficiency in Adobe After Effects and modern motion pipelines.
Experience with Cinema 4D, Blender, 3D animation, modeling, or illustration.
Excellent communication, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
