Job Overview

The Expert 3D Footwear Designer will be part of the Jordan 3D Design Studio, focusing on performance footwear across categories such as Basketball, Football, and Golf. This role involves translating athlete insights into high-quality digital designs, leading 3D creation workflows, and contributing to scalable digital systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead 3D design creation for performance footwear from concept to refined digital prototypes
  • Translate athlete-driven insights into precise and expressive 3D models
  • Create high-quality renders and animations to communicate design intent
  • Develop reusable digital assets, including lasts, templates, and modeling systems
  • Build and document workflows for rapid concept-to-prototype processes
  • Support digital asset libraries using scalable frameworks like USD
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and development teams
  • Explore procedural and AI-assisted workflows to enhance design efficiency
  • Maintain high standards of digital craftsmanship and innovation

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Footwear Design, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in performance footwear or hard-surface 3D design
  • Expertise in 3D tools such as Rhino, Grasshopper, Alias, Blender, Maya, ZBrush, or Modo
  • Strong rendering and animation skills
  • Experience with digital-to-physical workflows including 3D printing
  • Knowledge of USD or scene-graph workflows
  • Strong portfolio showcasing form, precision, and iterative design thinking
  • Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
  • Interest in procedural design and AI-assisted creation tools

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Footwear Design, or equivalent experience.
