The studio is seeking a Senior Gameplay Engineer to help shape technical direction, build scalable gameplay systems, and contribute to the continued growth of its globally distributed development team.

Job Overview

As a Senior Gameplay Engineer, you will collaborate closely with design, art, and production teams to deliver high-quality gameplay experiences. This role focuses on gameplay systems, engineering standards, mentoring developers, and driving technical excellence across a fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gameplay Systems Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable gameplay systems, tools, and core technical features.
  • Technical Leadership: Establish engineering standards, workflows, and best practices across the development pipeline.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with designers, artists, and production teams to translate creative ideas into technical solutions.
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and professional development initiatives.
  • Performance Optimization: Define performance benchmarks and optimize gameplay systems across multiple platforms.
  • Culture Building: Foster a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture within a fully remote team.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in game development.
  • Experience shipping at least one AAA or large-scale AA title in a senior engineering role.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ or C# programming.
  • Experience with systems architecture and scalable software design.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and conducting code reviews.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Equivalent professional experience in gameplay engineering will also be considered.
  • Additional training in software architecture, game systems, or multiplayer networking is beneficial.
